FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions about the Rural Domestic Water System
Q: How do I apply for domestic water service with LPWWA?
A: If your parcel is within a LPWWA service line, the following steps will apply:
1. Submit a Request for Service Review with payment of $625. The Engineer determines feasibility and capacity by performing a hydraulic analysis.
2. A feasible report from the engineer grants consideration for the purchase of a service connection(water tap). Phase 1 taps are currently $13,000 for a Subscription.
3. Execute Water User Agreement with LPWWA. More details to the agreement can be found in the Rules and Regulations.
Q: Will LPWWA install my service?
A: Yes, but only the tap and meter pit assembly. Once the service connection is completed, Subscribers are responsible for costs and installation of their lateral service line extension, which begins at the meter pit and extends to the place of use.
Q: If I'm a current subscriber, what do I do if I sell my property?
A: You can transfer your Water User Agreement to the new owner. At least 2 weeks prior to closing have the Title Company contact the LPWWA Office and we'll facilitate the transfer and provide the necessary documents for your closing date.
